Hockey games, public skates, and more…

We have a very busy weekend ahead of us here at the arena, with school closing for the long weekend we have added a few programs for everyone to enjoy. Come on in and watch a game or grab your skates and enjoy the rink.

First on Friday at 12:30pm there is going to be a stick session and following that will be public skate, from 1:30-2:20pm. Then the Girls Varsity team takes to the ice at 2:30pm followed by Boys Varsity at 4:00pm and Boys JV at 6:00pm.

On Saturday there is no public skate due to all the hockey games. The Girls JV starts at 1:50pm followed by the Boys Varsity at 4:00pm. Then the Nan Rheault Invitational starts at 6:00pm, with the Vineyard Girls taking on Situate at 8:00pm. The invitational consolation game and championship game are on Sunday at 10:30am and 12:30pm.

On Sunday we have TWO! Public skates. The first one in the afternoon at 3:30pm and a late night skate going from 8:00-9:20pm. Then finally we will have another public skate on Monday at 3:30pm. Visit our website for more times and happenings at

And once again the food truck will be outside offering good things to eat on Saturday and Sunday. They will even be available for breakfast on Sunday. Enjoy something good while you watch a game, skate at public, or just stop in for a bite!

Also, on January 11, many members of the Martha’s Vineyard Figure Skating Club traveled to the TD Garden to watch the US Figure Skating National Championships that decided the 2014 Olympic Team. Our skaters had an amazing experience – they saw great skating, made new friends and brushed elbows with this country’s elite skaters, past & present. MVFSC’s programs continue to grow this season as we prepare for our annual Ice Show on April 5 & 6. Stay tuned for the big show announcement in February.

Our Saturday Learn to Skate program has many new faces and many returning ones as well. These skaters will be participating in “Road to Sochi” classes that incorporate different Olympic sports into their practice time. Enrollment is on-going.
